Nuclear South West is entering a new phase of growth, collaboration, and regional impact. To support this, we are inviting expressions of interest from individuals who want to help shape the future of the sector in the South West, either as a member of our Board or as part of our emerging Working Groups.
Board Member Recruitment
We are seeking committed, sector‑savvy individuals who can help guide Nuclear South West’s strategic direction and ensure our activities deliver real value for the region’s nuclear ecosystem.
What we’re looking for
- A strong understanding of the nuclear, defence, engineering, or adjacent sectors
- A collaborative mindset and willingness to champion the region’s capabilities
- The ability to provide constructive challenge, strategic insight, and sector leadership
- Commitment to attending Board meetings and supporting key events or initiatives
- A desire to help shape a thriving, connected, future‑focused regional cluster
What Board members do
- Set strategic priorities and oversee delivery against our mission
- Support engagement with industry, government, and the supply chain
- Provide guidance on programmes, events, and regional opportunities
- Act as ambassadors for Nuclear South West and the wider South West cluster
- Help ensure our work remains inclusive, transparent, and impactful

Call for Working Group Members
Alongside Board recruitment, we are establishing a series of Working Groups to drive forward specific areas of activity. These groups will bring together practitioners, specialists, and innovators from across the region.
What we know so far
- Working Groups will focus on priority themes identified through our business planning and stakeholder engagement
- Each group will be shaped collaboratively once members are confirmed
- They will provide a practical forum for insight‑sharing, problem‑solving, and co‑designing activity
- Time commitments will be flexible and tailored to each group’s purpose
Who should express interest
- Individuals with specialist knowledge or lived experience in any part of the nuclear ecosystem
- Organisations keen to contribute to regional capability‑building
- People who enjoy collaborative working and want to help shape new initiatives from the ground up
If you’re interested in contributing to a Working Group, even before the themes are finalised—your early involvement will help us shape them in the right direction.

We welcome interest from across the sector, including SMEs, large organisations, academia, local authorities, and those new to the cluster.
