Meet the Nuclear South West Inward Investment Programme Team

Nick Golding, SWMAS Managing Director

Nick joined SWMAS with more than 10 years’ experience across aerospace and marine industries via major blue chip organisations. He has covered roles in supplier development, manufacturing and quality management. He formerly worked as part of the Hinkley Supply Chain Team. Since 2013 he has been focused on the Hinkley Point C project with EDF and Somerset Chamber of Commerce.

Sam Orchard, Nuclear South West Inward Investment Manager

Sam has been a part of the nuclear new build picture since 2014. She has worked actively across the Hinkley Point C project to engage with and support companies locally and nationally, promoting access to information, training and contracts. Sam has an established network across the South West nuclear spectrum, from EDF themselves to the comprehensive supply chain as a whole. She maintains strong working relationships with stakeholders, partners and businesses within the South West and further afield. Her work has actively contributed to securing the regional supply chain and skills legacy for the South West and Wales economy.

Adrian Peckitt, SWMAS/Nuclear South West Nuclear Supply Chain Specialist Expert

Adrian is an experienced procurement and construction management professional and has over 25 years’ experience working in the nuclear industry.

Adrian has actively supported supply chain development activities and has held positions on several steering groups.

In the last four years, Adrian has supported the Hinkley Supply Chain Programme. During this time, he has engaged with local suppliers to boost visibility of opportunities and conducted business reviews. To support Hinkley Point C and wider nuclear projects, he has discussed bespoke business improvement activities to increase capability and sustainability.

Axel Canbakan, Inward Investment Consultant (Overseas)

With a working background in France and Spain, Axel has been involved in nuclear at all stages, from new build and maintenance to decommissioning and radioactive waste management.

Axel has helped a wide range of companies settle in the UK including engineering, manufacturing, software, robotics integrators and staffing.
