BSR Group, based in Bristol, was established in 2024 to bring a more joined‑up approach to supporting major infrastructure and energy projects. From the outset, the business was designed to sit across multiple service lines, combining labour supply, facilities management, storage solutions and property advisory into a single, coordinated mobilisation offer.
Rather than operating as a traditional recruitment business or a standalone FM provider, BSR was created to solve the practical challenges that sit around project delivery. Mobilisation is rarely a single activity; it is a sequence of interconnected requirements. Clients may need the right people, but they also need the right building, suitable storage, compliant onboarding, facilities support, supplier coordination and clear communication between everyone involved. When these areas are managed separately, delays build quickly, candidates sit in onboarding, buildings are not ready, services are misaligned and project teams lose visibility.
BSR’s model brings these elements together under one coordinated approach. The aim is simple: one partner, one point of contact and one consistent standard from first conversation through to confirmed start date.
Recognising that client expectations have changed, BSR has invested in a client‑facing CRM system that provides real‑time visibility of candidate progress. As Managing Director Oliver James explains:
“People are used to instant visibility in everyday life, from tracking an Uber instead of waiting for a taxi, to ordering through Deliveroo instead of calling a takeaway and hoping for the best. We believe workforce mobilisation should move in the same direction.”
This approach gives project teams clearer oversight, reduces delays and creates a more predictable mobilisation pathway.
Supporting a Tier 1 Contractor at Hinkley Point C
BSR is currently supporting a prominent Tier 1 contractor at Hinkley Point C, providing labour supply and mobilisation capability across specialist trades. This work has given the business direct exposure to the standards, pace and expectations of one of the UK’s most significant nuclear construction projects.
Through this engagement, BSR has strengthened its understanding of what clients need when mobilising people into highly controlled environments, from candidate screening and compliance checks to onboarding coordination, documentation, communication and workforce readiness. It has also reinforced the importance of responsiveness, organisation and clarity when supporting projects where delays can have wider operational impacts.
This experience is now shaping how BSR supports future programmes across nuclear, infrastructure and energy. The business understands that clients in these environments need more than CVs; they need suppliers who understand the wider mobilisation process, communicate clearly, take ownership of detail and help keep projects moving.
BSR Community Fund
The BSR Community Fund has been created to ensure that, as BSR grows, part of that success is reinvested into the communities connected to its work.
BSR commits 1% of company profit into the fund, which is used to support local projects, community groups, skills initiatives and causes that create long‑term social value. The fund is initially focused on Bristol and the South West, with plans to expand its impact as BSR supports projects across other regions.
For clients and partners, the fund creates a clear link between project delivery and community benefit. By working with BSR, organisations are not only supporting recruitment, mobilisation and project coordination, but also contributing to positive outcomes beyond the project itself.
BSR’s commitment is simple: one partner, from start to finish: delivering capability, clarity and community value.
