Sizewell C Launches New Supplier Capability Assessment

Sizewell C has launched a brand‑new Capability Assessment through the Supply Chain Sustainability School, giving suppliers a clear, structured way to understand the project’s priorities and benchmark their organisational readiness.

Developed with Sizewell C subject matter experts, the assessment enables businesses to evaluate their maturity across key ESG and business topics — from workforce and skills to carbon, governance, social value and responsible procurement. Each competency is scored from Level 1 to Level 5, with results used to generate a bespoke action plan tailored to the organisation’s needs.

This tool is designed to help suppliers build capability, strengthen alignment with Sizewell C’s expectations, and demonstrate commitment to the project’s long‑term sustainability and performance goals. It is not linked to procurement; instead, it provides a practical development pathway for companies preparing to engage with the Sizewell C supply chain.

The Capability Assessment sits alongside the wider Sizewell C Supplier Development Programme, which includes ten targeted learning pathways, a programme of webinars and workshops, and a library of resources to support continuous improvement.

For South West businesses already supporting Hinkley Point C, or looking ahead to future nuclear opportunities, this is a valuable opportunity to understand what Sizewell C expects and begin building the capability to meet those standards.
