The 8th International Conference on Nuclear Decommissioning (ICOND) focuses on decommissioning strategies worldwide.
This includes roles of authorization, financial planning, and change management in the transition from nuclear power plant to decommissioned project. More than 300 international participants and an accompanying company exhibition presenting the latest technologies make ICOND a business platform where experts from NPP operators, authorities and nuclear industry meet and discuss these topics.
Until 2030 more than 300 nuclear power reactors will be in decommissioning worldwide, with 165 of that in Europe and 71 in North- and South America. The closure and decommissioning of nuclear power plants present high demands regarding planning and authorization to all parties involved. As a result, optimized decommissioning strategies will need to be well-coordinated among all participants. After a period of institutional reorganization in Germany, nuclear decommissioning has entered a new phase in which more than 20 reactors are in decommissioning by now.
ICOND allows participants to proficiently debate the challenges of the decommissioning of nuclear plants in a practical way, and to define optimal planning options for decommissioning implementation. A simultaneous translation (German/English/Russian) will be available.
